Who Are We?

Sarah Pride

I am first and foremost a child of God, and I love Him dearly. After this, I am a daughter and sister, a friend, a servant, a facilitator, a visionary, and an artist. I attended Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, VA for a Bachelor's in Literature, graduating in 2007. Before this, I spent all my teenage years working for my parents -- office managing and writing for Practical Homeschooling magazine and Mary Pride's Complete Guide to Getting Started in Homeschooling. At this time, I am delighted to serve PHC as a full-time editorial assistant and web content manager. In my spare time, I am teaching myself moviemaking.

I have spent most of my life being homeschooled near the little town of Dinosaur, Colorado. After graduating high school, I enrolled at Patrick Henry College in the fall of 2005, and am now a senior Literature major. I am also the Chief Executive Officer of PHC’s film club, Streaming Media Network, and I recently initiated PHC’s first national short story competition, “A Call to Pens.”

I have had the opportunity to serve in dozens of short films and two feature films, both behind and in front of the camera. In summer of 2008, I served as the Unit Production Manager for Rosemary, a professional short, and Assistant Director for Muse, another short. During summer 2007, I was the Unit Production Manager/2nd Assistant Director for the feature film Come What May. I look forward to building my craft more in the upcoming year.

I attended Patrick Henry College for two semesters in 2005-2006, during which time I decided I wanted to pursue a career in filmmaking. Since then, I worked on both of Moonlight Media's training projects as the gaffer (lighting artist) as well as on numerous other film projects in the Virginia area and in Colorado. The word "Moonlight" has special meaning to me as a gaffer, since my job is to light movies that bring hope and reflect a reality that is both honoring and glorifying to God.
